While I was in the software, I also ran the duplicates report, just for good measure. Because I had followed the Gramps report, and FTB gave me the same list of names, I had no action to take.In the people list, sorted by the "Relationships" header, to find those without a relationship number.Then searched, double-checked and removed the records in Ancestry.Then ran the "Not Related" report (Tools > Utilities > Not Related).I highlighted the central person in the tree (me, in this case).Because I use Ancestry.ca as my current/active tree, I made all my edits online, but used the analytics from the desktop software to find orphaned records. I used two free tools and got the same results. Thought I'd post what I did thanks to the great help of the folks here - just in case someone googles this same problem and needs help!
